9/11 made a huge impact on me! As a young mom of two babies, I was downtown in my apartment, blocks away from the Twin Towers. I took my daughter outside to walk the dogs and found us both confronted by people running from downtown covered in white. I told my daughter who was 2 at the time, that it was snow.
That night we had dinner in a neighborhood restaurant, as I had no kitchen at the time. We paid for the dinners of all the Firefighters who dined next to us. Some didn’t come back the next night, or the night after.
Thank you, New York City for the amazing work our Police and Firefighters performed then and continue to perform. My heart goes out to all the families who have suffered a loss due to 9/11.
I will not be tweeting on Twitter or posting on Facebook in rememberance of 9/11.
We all need to take a moment to reflect and be grateful for all we have everyday!

Happy Saturday, I took the girls to support my great friend Diana Di Menna who took a lemonade stand to a new level. This year, we sold cookies, lemonade, and designed t-shirts. It was a fun way to encourage my girls to help those who need help. The Robin Hood Foundation helps target poverty in NYC. I’ll cut tees and sell lemonade all day and night to support the children in NYC.
Thank you Nacho Figueras for being my supermodelpoloplayergiveman!
Happy Saturday. Love hard, give harder!

Hurricane Irene came and went, and so did my own hurricane of traveling — from Sag Harbor with two kids and three dogs, to Manhattan for a night, to Canyon Ranch in Lenox,Mass., and finally back to NYC this week.
That’s when I got a call: Hairstylist Julien Farelwas once again having a salon at the U.S. Open. I definitely wanted to see Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer play tennis, but I also needed to meet the man who coifs their great-looking hair.
On the day I visited the Open, a car pulled up in front of my SoHo building to take me to Queens. Julien Farel himself — chicly dressed in a U.S. Open Polo shirt and equestrian-style pants — accompanied me on the ride. We chatted about the summer, his upcoming project (a secret wedding!) and, ofcourse, hair.
Farel, who has two salons in Manhattan, even gave me some tips for my dry hair, which oftengets blown out six times a week.
Another cool revelation: Farel said that even athletes are grooming- and beauty obsessed. I saw that for myself at the Open — everyone looked so good, on and off the court. Where was all the sweat, grime and grunting? I was impressed by all the neat short nails, cool haircuts and U.S. Open paraphernalia.
When I sat next to a player while getting my nails done at Farel’s salon, she had just finished working out in the gym, and she looked as though she had stepped right out of a Nike ad.
A few tips for hot Open attire: Sport a Lacoste or Polo shirt and a fun mini or hot shorts. Wear flats— it’s a sports match. Stay far away from fall colors and black — it’s too hot and you’ll fry like piece of bacon. Sport a cute Open baseball hat — guys like girls in baseball caps.
Keep your shoulders exposed but slather on the sunscreen. Channel a “hot athlete” — not a “fall fashion victim.”

Right after the I filmed the Reunion of The Real Housewives of New York Season 4, I hopped on a plane to Costa Rica where I stayed at the Four Seasons at Peninsula Papagayo. It was there, I feasted on chips, guacamole, bought beautiful pearl beads for my daughters, went at the Witch’s Rock Canopy Tour ziplining (check out the lunch lady hat), and got to paint a fence at the Tempisque School in Guanacaste. The trip tied a nice bow on Season 4. I am so lucky to be part of the Bravo family and the show has afforded me the luxury to create what I love and to help others. Did I tell you how amazing the food was at the restaurant Caracol? He has his own garden outside the restaurant and creates meals that are direstly from his own backyard, which happens to be attached to an amazing golf course. The chef even gave me cotton candy to take home to my girls in New York City. Thank you Costa Rica for the amazing trip I will never forget.
It’s Coca Cola’s 125 th Anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than to compile the Coca Cola archives and create an amazing tribute with Assouline publishing. The images are memories we all grew up with from Shrek, supermodel Naomi Cambpell, which looked similar to what Lady Gaga wore in her “Telephone” music video, to a young image of Michael Douglas, and even RUN DMC. And they even have an iPad App for $4.99, that brings the book to life with the images and video. Whitney Port and I got to check out all the images together in New York City. Lets be honest, what other beverage endured every trend from punk, 50’s housewives, the RHONY Housewives, Woodstock, the tech craze, bell bottoms, skinny jeans, socialites, surfers, hipsters, Prince, football, starlets, and Lady Gaga. Through the good, bad, and the ugly, Coca Cola has been with us everyday and refreshed us. Have a coke and a smile!
The Real Housewife of New YorkKelly Bensimon celebrated her birthday on Cinco de Mayo with friends including fellow housewife Cindy Barshop at Teqa in NYC.
Kelly came in and was greeted with three huge glass displays filled with Jelly Beans, her favorite! Kelly blew out the candles on a cake made special for her by ‘Made In Heaven Cakes.’
TV personalities Kelly Killoren Bensimon, LuAnn de Lesseps, Alex McCord, Cindy Barshop, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and Jill Zarin spoke onstage at the 9th Annual TV Land Awards at the Javits Center on April 10, 2011 in New York City.
Us Weekly invited me to host a spin class at Soulcycle in Tribeca of New York City. I love the kinetic energy from spinning vs the frenetic energy of New York City. Who knew how awesome the instructor and music would be. I got a killer workout that effected my whole body. January is get fit month. My only advise to even myself is…. MOVE. Soul Cycle is awesome spinning( I’m officially a spinerina) and good food for the soul and body. Feel good, get fit!
Sea and Teddy Bensimon are thinking big….really big. They raised $143 by themselves for Animal Haven with a clever idea, a hot cocoa stand. It was cold outside in New York City, but Sea and Teddy were more concerned about the future of the adoptable pups than the cold.I was such a proud mom that day. Go Sea and Teddy.

Its a Sunday in New York City. People are out getting coffee, walking their dogs, working out, and meeting for lunch. When you have two kiddies, Sundays can either be a easy relaxing at home day, or it can be an adventure day. We chose an adventure day. We had lunch at Extra Virgin in the West Village, and jumped in a cab uptown to Natural Museum of History to see the “Butterfly Exhibit“. First you go into a vivarium which is 90 degrees. Once you are in, there are butterflies everywhere, even some on people’s heads. Seeing these beautiful butterflies made us think how beautiful and erratic their movements are. Where are they going in such a rush? I made butterfly boxes for my girls at Evolution in New York City, for I am obsessed with nature, it’s the Midwestern girl who spent hours at the creek coming out. And now, my girls had a up close and personal chance to observe and respect the beauty of nature. And speaking of butterflies, if someone gives you that feeling listen to one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs, “Butterflies”. I shared it with you in this post, enjoy..because everyone deserves to feel a flutter.
