Hoot Magazine, which is Columbia University’s magazine asked me to grace the cover and be featured in story. I have two major achievements in my life: my children and my education.

My academic experience at Columbia was unforgettable. The student body’s evaluations of the works read were sometimes more interesting than the works themselves. It was at Columbia where I was encouraged to “try,” and where I recognized the significance of strong juxtapostions, which helped me so much in my writing and to acquire a strong sense of style. It was the juxtaposition of socialites and surfers, bonakers and bankers that always intrigued me about the Hamptons and inspired me to write my first book. The application of the information learned was something that I take with me daily.

Anyone can learn, but applying what you learned to everyday life is what separates the men from the boys. I am humbled to grace the cover of such an incredible academic institution which I hold in high regard. Today was a day I will never forget.
