My ULTA ultras for the Jill Stuart 2013 spring fashion show. Check out this gorgeous makeup palette from ULTA. I used the smokey blue eye color, benefit mascara, and the bare minerals lip color for a soft lip.
The Jill Stuart show showed neutrals and straight hair. Maybe I should channel that for the show tomorrow. Thoughts?

On the eve of Fashion Week, Target blows NYC away with one of the most influential Italian families, the Missoni’s. Angela designs, Margarita is the face, and the entire family comes out to support, and thats their family, not just the fashion family. For those who think knits are not hot, then you have never travelled. One thing you learn from traveling in Europe is culture and style. And the Missoni’s have a lot of style. Patterns and knits are their forte. And, they taken what they know and love and applied it to clothing as well as home goods, even vases. Welcome to America, Missoni, we are so proud to have you here.

PAPERMAG spent Valentine’s Day at the Plaza for alice + olivia’s girlie-chic fall 2011 presentation. Between Vanessa Hudgens and Johnny Weir sightings, we forgot all about the fact that we were Valentine-less and revisiting the complimentary Godiva goodies gifted to us more than we now care to share. But the real treat of the evening was bumping into former PAPERMAG Fashion Week guest-blogger and Real Housewives of New York scene-stealer Kelly Bensimon, who’s just as excited for the show’s next season as we are.
How would you describe your personal style?
I like to mix it up. I’m a mother but I’m also doing other things — so sporty but sexy. I always like to be able to move and not be confined and I like short dresses because I have good legs. That’s my asset! I’m going to show them off as long as I can.
Are you looking forward to the next season of Real Housewives of New York?
I’m so excited — it’s going to be great. I think, at this point, a lot of people are just waiting for it to come out. They’re like, “Wait a minute, what happened?” I’m waiting for it to be back on like everybody else. It’s a really good season and I’m really proud of it.
Last season was full of memorable scenes and so much drama. Are you guys going to top that this season?
I don’t think of it as scenes. This is my real life — If I go to a party, I go there. If I leave, it’s because I have something else to do. I don’t make any excuses for anything I do, I make a lot of mistakes. And it’s my real life. I don’t have a story line, I don’t have an idea, I don’t have a strategy. I’m the same way that I am with you, when I’m with my friends, when I’m with everyone else. There’s no difference.
In other words, you keep it real.
I’m real. I’m really real. I’m always like, “I don’t understand what you’re talking about. That’s not real.” I’m excited for the next season because it’s going to be a great opportunity for people to really see me. If I don’t like it, I don’t like it. And if I do, I love it.

Don’t expect to see Kelly Killoren Bensimon wearing some fussy, fashionista-approved outfit during New York Fashion Week.
The Real Housewives of New York star, 42, tells UsMagazine.com “I don’t want to dress for women. I like to dress for dudes — smoking hot!”
So where does the mother of two, jewelry designer and former model shop for the perfect “guy hot” looks before attending a slew of fashion week shows, events and parties? Her own closet, for starters.
In this exclusive video, the entertaining star reveals her secret for enhancing your assets (hint: smaller equals bigger), how to transition from winter to spring and why your shoes shouldn’t be practical. And her LOL (but useful!) style advice doesn’t end there.
Then, Bensimon checks out the new Ann Taylor concept store in the Flatiron district of NYC, where she whips up three hot ensembles, demonstrates how to turn a headband into a bracelet and declares, “I’m probably going to be one of the best dressed people at fashion week.”
And definitely don’t miss the star stop by the alice + olivia store to pick out something to wear to the label’s Fall/Winter 2011 presentation. Bensimon hunts for a “Corona dress” that she can “play pool in” and jokes with designer Stacey Bendet about snagging a Valentine’s Day date.

Gold Bar hosted a party for me Thursday night to celebrate the kick off of Spring 11 Fashion Week, and for my new role as guest blogger for Paper Magazine. Rob McKinley, the co-owner/designer of Gold Bar and The Surf Lodge, is pictured here with me at Gold Bar. As a designer, he is responsible for many of the most buzzed-about hotspots in town. In his spare time he loves to get in the DJ booth and spin records. All of my TV producers came to see all of the fashion insiders who were there, like my jewelry designer, as well as the fashion publicists, Cosmo Radio uber talents, press reporters, and amazing personal shoppers from Intermix and Stella McCartney who stopped by.
It’s not just the designers that make the fashion wheel turn. If personal shoppers don’t like items, they don’t sell. If press doesn’t speak well of trends, they don’t sell. It was fun to watch the TV peeps observe how the fashion peeps navigate. Little do the TV peeps know that one look and 2.4 million viewers makes a huge impact for designers. Maybe TV and fashion should have a beer and discuss the possibilities. Just a thought.

Paper Magazine asked me to be a guest blogger for fashion week. Maybe its my real approach to fashion that they like. I honestly have no idea why they asked me, but I am incredibly flattered and obsessed with Paper Magazine. Its cool, sexy, urban, and not fashion fake. They like what they like because its good. I have always thought of Paper Magazine as a leaders in the trend driven mags. And, now I am a guest blogger. I also had a celebratory party at Gold Bar for fashion week and for my new fashion week blog. Who came? All my tv friends. I guess everyone loves the world they don’t know. Fashion is obsessed with being on tv, and tv peeps are obsessed with the allure of tv. So, I guess taking a leap of faith into tv land was a good thing.
Here comes my blog!

I was invited to go to a few fashion shows at the Mercedes Benz Fashion week at the new location at Lincoln Center. I have always been intrigued by fashion, but I also love the European aesthetic of mixing it up with expensive luxury items and great items from the Gap. Yes, I am Gap obsessed lately. Its everything I love, tight hot jeans and easy menswear inspired that give you a look that says you’ve traveled somewhere amazing. From black magic skinny trousers to cropped jeans, Gap fits all types of women. They even have cool wax canvas bags that are so cool and durable, and their metallic ballet flats are straight off a ballerina.
Good taste doesn’t have to have a high ticket price.
